Squallis Puppeteers are a constantly evolving
troupe of puppet
enthusiasts
that make our own puppets, write our own plays and orchestrate
them with
original music. We have been
performing and teaching puppetry for children
and
adults in
Louisville, Kentucky since 1997.
In 2003, Squallis Puppeteers Inc. became a
Non-Profit Organization. If you
see
something strange, inexplicable and ten foot tall, you are probably
watching
a Squallis Puppeteer.
Squallis Puppeteers have worked with the Louisville Zoo, The Portland
Museum,
Speed Art Museum, the ACLU's Reproductive
Freedom Project, Arts Council of Louisville,
Kentucky Arts Council, Kentucky
Shakespeare Festival, Louisville Free Public Library,
Jefferson County Public Schools, Jobs with Justice,
World Arts Youth Festival, Americana
Community
Center, Louisville Central Community Center,
Kentucky Opera, and many
neighborhood groups.
Squallis MISSION:
We use the art of puppetry to free imaginations, to create fantastic characters, and to tell stories important to our communities.
