Squallis Puppeteers is hosting its 15th annual fundraising bash on Feb 10th, 2018. This year’s Puppet Prom is a good ol’ romp in the swamp with all the critters found there. This is a family friendly event so dress up the kids and bring them to a party they will never forget. Experience live music with Juanita, our band highlight! Event starts at 6pm and runs until 11pm. The party is at Squallis Headquarters, in the Highlands Community Campus, on the corner of Barrett and Breckinridge. There is something for everyone at this fun loving bash. Come on out and join in the puppet love-fest while supporting your local puppet group. Squallis merchandise and a commemorative 20th anniversary poster by Hound Dog Press will be available at the event. Don’t miss out! All proceeds will benefit Squallis Puppeteers operations and programming.
Q: What do I wear?
A: Let your freak flag fly! Prom attire, Halloween costumes, Swamp themed clothes, tuxedos, jeans and a t-shirt; its all cool!
Q: When should I get there?
A: Doors open at 6pm. Finger puppet workshop will be open until 9pm. Puppet skits for kids are happening around 6:30 & 7:30pm. Live music by Juanita starts around 9:30pm. Silent Auction closes by 10:30pm, followed by another puppet skit (adult) and dancing until 11pm.
Q: Can I eat dinner there?
A: Yes! In addition to some donated snacks there is catering and a full bar by Wiltshire Pantry.
Q: Can my kids attend?
A: They'd better! Yes, of course, the event is kid friendly. There is a political puppet skit later in the night at 10:30pm that might involve some adult language. It's past your bedtime anyway kids!
Q: Can I attend if I don't have kids?
A: Yes, please do. Plenty of teens and adults attend Puppet Prom every year, with or without kids.
